First you should draw the new rule. Q is the only person attending leadership:
Next, ask yourself what rules affect Q. Rule 4 does:
- We need to place TQ somewhere.
- It must be the first T.
Q can only attend Goal Sharing and Information Overload. But information overload won’t work, because there’s nowhere for the second T to go. So TQ must go in Goal Sharing:
Next, think about the other restricted variable: RS. This must be the first R. Information overload doesn’t work for the first R, because there’s no place to put the second R. And since Goal Sharing is full, the first R must go in Feedback:
The second R goes in information overload. I drew that too. Now, who’s left? We need to place one T, and one S. They can go in either Handling People or Information Overload:
This diagram proves that S could attend Information Overload and not Handling People, so D is CORRECT. All the other answers contradict the diagram.

I cannot figure this question out. I am utterly lost. Please provide a detailed explanation on what and how and why this is right. Thank you in advance. I’ll be waiting.

I actually used T and S cannot go together rule on this question, question 15 and question 18. The are in common that 2 Ts and 2 Ss are forced to be placed into 4 places. On this question, we have to place 2 Ts and 2 Ss into F, G, H and I. Since we have made the deduction that T cannot go to F, S must go to F, otherwise T and S will be forced together. Then we must place 2 Rs into F and I. The TQ group will have to go to G. And we are left with 1 S and 1 T to be placed.

Yes, thanks for this!

Regarding the last step in the explanation: Why can’t the second T go in Information overload and the second S go in Handling People ?
Vin says
Is it because the question mentions “could be false?” and the answer choice with Spivey attending Handling People is the only answer choice with a possibility of a false answer (for example if S and T go next to each other)?
MemberOrion_LSATHacks says
This is correct. It is possible for answer D to be false, so it is correct (even though it could also possibly be true).
Boris says
In the very last step, couldn’t S attend H and T attends I?
MemberOrion says
It’s possible for S to attend H and T to attend I. However, what’s important is that it’s POSSIBLE for it to be false. The question doesn’t ask what must be false, only what could be false.
Steve says
In the last sentence of the explanation, shouldn’t “Handling People” be “Information Overload”? If S can attend I, then “Spivey attends Handling People” could be false, making (D) correct.
TutorLucas (LSAT Hacks) says
Yes, thanks for catching that! The page has been updated.
Chelsea says
How can S attend I when it has to first with R and R cannot go in leadership?
MemberOrion_LSATHacks says
S must attend the first talk R attends, which is talk F. S is not required to attend any further talks with R.
Rachel says
There is an error in the description: Both S & T cannot go in Handling People because S & T cannot go together per the initial rules.

Fixed it, thanks! Shows how easy it is to forget a rule.
CJ says
Sorry, Graeme, found another typo.
You have I-Q, vs. T-Q in Goal Sharing when you first place it, immediately following this bit: “Q can only attend Goal Sharing and Information Overload. But information overload won’t work, because there’s nowhere for the second T to go. So TQ must go in Goal Sharing”
Best,
CJ
