Logic Games are the easiest section of the LSAT to improve at. However, they’ve also gotten harder. New LSATs feature “unusual” games that don’t respond to regular strategies.
This seminar has two goals:
- Give you the tools for mastery of logic games and all of the major game types
- Give you the ability to overcome unusual games that you’ve never seen before
This class is aimed at advanced students. Beginners can still get value from it, but I won’t be slowing down to cover basics. I’ll assume you already know basic diagramming techniques and have some familiarity with game types and have done at least ten logic games sections.
The seminar is in two parts:
- An overview of LG strategies that you can use on all games types + how to think about the section in general
- Walk throughs from hard games from each of the major types. I show exactly what I was thinking on each question as I solved it, and habits you can use to do games faster.
There’s also a Q and A covering common questions. You can ask other LG questions here as well.
Total class time: Six hours
Cost: $199

LG Seminar Description
Logic Games have gotten harder. While LG is still the most learnable section, newer LSATs have “unusual” games that are completely different from anything that has come before. These can cause you to lost 5-7 points on an LG section when you normally only miss one or two.
Fortunately, there’s a way to avoid this problem:
- Bring your logic games score up so that you’re consistently scoring -0 or -1 at most
- Finish with extra time
If you’re not at this point, you should focus on improving LG until you are. These are the easiest points you can gain on the LSAT. Or if you’re already at -2 or -3, then you need to improve in order to keep that high score once you run across an unusual game.
Getting you to -0 is the purpose of this seminar.
There are lots of great guides to logic games. But few of them focus on how to do logic games efficiently.
And no guide or prep method focuses on how to handle the new logic games. The ones that can really throw off your test day.
I’ve written detailed explanations for around 150 logic games, and worked through countless more with students. Seeing the same game over and over and over again forced me to become more efficient at them, and this efficiency is central to how I teach LG. I can’t stand a method that is logically correct, but slow.
So in this seminar I’m going to show you how I do logic games. Quickly, efficiently, and simply.
Review
Here’s what one student said:
“I took a short (2 day) logic games course with LSAT Hacks at the same time I was enrolled in another company’s online LSAT course, and got got more out of one hour with Graeme than with almost two months with the other course. I was at a point where I….was open to insight into how really good games-section people even just look at a game, the incredibly simple but profoundly impactful ways they read the basic description of the game, the rules, and what they are doing when absorbing these things. I got faster almost immediately, and the fundamental principle of LSAT Hacks is that speed follows from expertise. I’ve enrolled in the full course because LSAT Hacks informs quickly and clearly, and that is just what I have been seeking.” – Hagatmas
FAQ
Do I still have time to learn?
Yes. Logic Games are the easiest section to get better at. I personally got a lot better at them in a week when I was studying for the LSAT (I did nothing else that week).
This seminar is designed to make your LG study time more effective. Too many people spend months doing game after game, but not mastering them. The seminar is designed to let you quickly master games.
Are there any prereqs?
Not formally. But, I’m going to assume everyone in the seminar has the following:
- You are familiar with the basic game types: grouping, linear, pure sequencing
- You are familiar with common diagramming conventions
- You’ve done at least 10 LG sections
This webinar is for people that already know things about LG, and want to take it to the next level.
What will be covered?
The initial webinar will be in two parts:
- I’m going to go over how I do games, optimizing for speed and efficiency. This is the most important part: solving specific questions comes from a good setup, and good processes
- I’ll be working through difficult games from the major game types, commenting on what I’m doing, and why. These processes generalize to all games of those types.
The seminar videos list what games are covered. I took the bulk of them from preptests 62-64, to avoid using up more PTs than necessary. A game from 66 and 67 are also covered, in order to discuss strategies for the new “unusual” games that have become a standard feature of logic games.
You’ll be able to do the games in advance, in order to follow along. Or, review the rules only, if you prefer.
What do you mean by “unusual” games
Starting around preptests in the late 60s, LSAC began introducing games that are completely different from any that came before. These are designed to throw off people who only can do games using rote memorization of strategies. I’ll be covering:
- An example of an unusual game, and how to do it
- How to deal with a game you’ve never seen
- Games you can practice with to get used to unusual concepts
What’s in the full course (middle package)?
The middle package is the LG seminar + the full LSAT Hacks course. This is a way to get the course at a significant discount from the regular price. The course itself covers every section of the LSAT, and works through many different questions. In particular there are several lessons devoted to logic games. (Each lesson is 1.5-2 hours)
What’s the 1-on-1 consultation?
This is a chance to get personal feedback from me on your games strategy. I’ll look over your diagrams, watch you do a game, and then tell you what you can do to improve.
You can send me pictures of your diagram, or draw in front of me on an online whiteboard, or ideally both. Overall, the consult is 90 minutes long and gives us time to really go over your approach to games.
