Description
This is a big announcement. I’m planning a new membership program on LSATHacks, called LSATHacks Plus. And I’m looking for 50 people to be beta testers, with some special extras for those who help me test things and join.
If you’re reading this, you likely use the free explanations on my site. A lot of people tell me they’re their favourite LSAT explanations, but they wish there were more of them. As do I: making the explanations is my favourite part of what I do.
So I spent the last few months adding a lot of extra material to the site.
What is LSATHacks Plus Early Access Membership?
Currently, the free version has explanations for 132 LSAT sections from 33 preptests. LSATHacks Plus has explanations for 245 sections, from 75 preptests!
- 13 extra RC sections
- 13 extra LG sections
- 84 extra LR sections
I’m going to be adding new sections constantly.
Why is it Early Access?
It isn’t done. There’s about 30 extra tests included in the membership. But of tests 82-92, only about half are complete. You and I both know the newest tests are most useful.
The old tests and explanations are great for drilling but this won’t be live till the new ones are more complete.
What’s the plan during the beta period?
Build out the missing questions as quickly as possible, and answering your questions 1:1 for any material that’s still missing.
On any given test, 80% of the popular explanations are about 20% of the questions. And you’ll be able to help me figure out which questions are in that 20%. In the beta:
- You get to ask about questions I don’t have an explanation for
- I’ll reply with answers tailored to you, basically micro tutoring
- I’ll at the same time write an explanation for that question to post
So we should fill most of the gaps at least on the hardest questions within a month or two. It’s a virtuous circle. You identify the questions you need, I answer them, and in the process we’ll produce more explanations so that others can just read them.
Why should I join the beta program?
First, the obvious: you’re getting thousands of explanations before others. If you use these regularly that’s a huge advantage they won’t have.
Beyond that, you’re getting a a some perks that won’t be in the regular membership once live.
- Get Answers: The above ability to ask tailored questions. This mini tutoring does not come cheap normally
- Preptest Review Webinars: A weekly webinar covering sections I haven’t explained yet. Small group setting, this is also something I’ve charged for in the past.
- Get Tailored Lessons: The ability to ask for lessons on topics. I’m going to add video mini courses to the membership: if there’s a topic you want covered, ask me in the Discord. I’ll ask some questions to tailor the videos to you, then if suitable make a mini course on that topic. e.g. if you need help with negations, I’ll figure out where you’re having trouble, then make a mini course on negations that also addresses what you wanted to know. The mini course would then become part of the membership for everyone
- LSAT Course Raffle: Entry into a raffle for an LSATHacks course. Two people out of the group will win. Out of max 50 people, those are good odds!
Do I get other stuff that’s part of the regular membership?
Yup! You get all these:
- Private Discord: Access to a private Discord where you can meet other students and chat. I’m going to be very active here during the beta period
- Study Plan: A day by day study plan PDF ($15 value)
- Unusual Games Mastery Seminar: Access to my unusual games mastery seminar. This is half finished and includes the overview + walkthroughs of two such games. ($149 value when complete)
- Real Time LSAT Videos: Videos of me solving sections in real time. You get to see exactly what I do at any given point in a section
- Discounts: 25% Discount on any LSATHacks courses, 20% Discount on tutoring
What if I’m not satisfied?
I’m including a one week satisfaction guarantee with the beta.
But also, you probably won’t: if you like the existing explanations, you’ll probably like getting more in the membership! And since it’s a beta, get in touch, I want to hear your feedback if there’s anything you’d like to see added or improved.
How much is it?
The price is $29.99 per month. About a dollar a day. And you have the ability to cancel anytime
How does the course raffle work?
The first 50 people in the beta will be entered into a raffle for one of the following: any of the three LSAT mastery seminars of your choice, or the intro LSAT Course. The selection will be done by random draw once the 50 slots are filled, or within two weeks of this announcement, whichever is sooner.
Note: membership has discount codes, for 25% off courses. If you would like to buy a mastery seminar and then subsequently win the raffle, I’d be glad to refund the course purchase in lieu of giving you another one. So, don’t feel obliged to wait for the raffle results before starting to use a course, I’ll apply it retroactively if you win :)
Disclaimer
I haven’t set a strict limit on how many questions members can ask. I originally thought “one per student per day, with a reply within 1 business day”. But, I know people don’t study one question at a time. Some days you may have no questions, others more than one.
So, we’re all reasonable people. Ask the questions you have. We’ll aim for a reply within 1 business day. Asking more than one at once might mean you get staggered replies, so put the highest priority questions first. We reserve the right to limit someone to “one per day, one business day reply”, but honestly I don’t expect to need to use that.
Note that this applies to questions where I have no explanation. If you’ve got questions about an existing explanation, just leave a comment and we’ll get to it :)
