DISCUSSION: The questions asks about the purpose of both passages. You can answer these questions with 100% certainty. You’re looking for something that’s mentioned in both passages.
Don’t just go off of a vague feeling. Check! LSAT students consistently overestimate how much time it takes to refer to the passage. With practice you can learn to find the right lines within 5-10 seconds.
This technique lets you be 100% certain that your answer is correct.
You can also eliminate wrong answers by checking the passage. Suppose you know that a concept is mentioned in passage A, but you’re not sure if it’s in passage B.
You can eliminate the answer by skimming passage B to see if it mentions the concept. Again, this is something you can practice. Have a friend quiz you on whether a passage contains an idea. See how fast you can go.

- Only passage B mentions biology (the second sentence of the first paragraoh of passage A).
- Only passage A mentions habituation.
