DISCUSSION: The third paragraph introduces the idea that the Pianoforte “school” may not have been a true school of musicians.

1. Temperley didn’t produce a study of the Pianoforte school. He published an anthology of their music. And the second paragraph says this anthology is highly useful.
2. CORRECT. “Coherency” in this context refers to whether the school was a unified group.
3. Ringer came in the fourth paragraph, afterwards. He’s never mentioned in the third paragraph.
4. The third paragraph casts doubt on the idea that members of the Pianoforte school had much in common.
5. The third paragraph never mentions any contributions. Don’t choose answers that have no support from the passage.
