1. CORRECT. See lines 40-44. “Even conservative politicians” implies that all politicians agree, even conservatives. The author uses them as an example of a group unlikely to agree with taxes.
2. In lines 44-50, the author asks whether anyone can disagree with this. Well, maybe someone can. We’re never told what politicians think of this.
3. The author implies that all politicians support some taxation but some oppose conscription.
4. We only know the author thinks “necessity” should have a broader meaning.
5. Lines 1-4 tell us that some people don’t think compulsion is compatible with liberal democracy. Maybe some of these people are politicians.
