Logical Reasoning is the biggest section on the LSAT: half of your points come from LR. And it’s gotten harder. New logical reasoning questions have significantly more nuance and require much more detailed explanation. But, there are still patterns and habits you can learn to master the section.
I’m running an LR mastery seminar to teach you how to go faster on LR and get more questions right.
This seminar has two goals:
- Give you the tools for mastery of logical reasoning and all of the major question types
- Learn how to quickly solve hard problems and know which parts of the question to focus on.
This class is aimed at advanced students. Beginners can still get value from it, but I won’t be slowing down to cover basics. I’ll assume you already:
- know basic diagramming techniques and
- have familiarity with question types and
- have done at least twenty logical reasoning sections.
The seminar is in three parts:
- An intro session where I’ll talk about the main LR difficulties, common mistakes, and how I approach LR in general. I’ll also discuss how I use diagramming. In this first session I’ll also cover fact based questions. (E.g. Must Be True)
- In the second session I’ll cover non-critical argument question types, and start discussing flawed argument question types.
- In the third session, I’ll finish discussion flawed argument question types. I’ll also have a Q and A covering common questions.
Total class time: Nine hours
Cost: $299
Dates: April 25th, 6:30-9:30 pm EST, April 27th, 6:30-9:30 pm EST, April 29th, 2-5 pm EST.
Recording: There will be recordings sent out after every session, in case you can’t make one, or want to watch them again.

Seminar + Course bundles: You can get the seminar + the LG and RC mastery seminars at a discount to the usual price. The seminars have a similar format and cover the other two sections of the LSAT. The final option is the all the seminars + an LR consult, where I’ll see how you solve questions and give you tailored advice.
Already have one of the seminars and want a bundle discount? No problem. If you have both of the other two, you can get the LR seminar for $199. If you have one of the other two, you can get the LR seminar + the other mastery seminar for $399. Send me an email saying which seminar you’re in, and I’ll give you a discount.
LR Seminar Description
Logical Reasoining has gotten harder. I’m in a good position to know. I’ve written explanations for thousands of LSAT questions. And I’ve found that when I explain LR questions for preptest 70 and above, I need 50% more works. The questions have more nuance, and are getting a bit less predictable.
But it’s still possible to master these new questions:
- Increasingly, you need to avoid thinking about question types, and instead refine how you approach all questions.
- Newer questions require the use of “common sense” and reasonable assumption.
In the seminar, I’ll show you a method for approaching any question, and prephrasing it.
Prephrasing is the key to LR mastery. For most questions, I spend 90% of my time on the stimulus, but then go through the answers in 5-10 sections. LR answers can be predicted. I’ll show you how to do this, regardless of the question type.
Getting you to solve LR questions quickly, confidently and routinely is the purpose of this seminar.
There are lots of great guides to logical reasoning. But few of them focus on prephrasing, or on developing an efficient method across question types.
And no guide or prep method focuses on how to use common sense assumptions. I see too many students narrowly refusing to apply real world knowledge to questions because a guide told them not to. The “don’t use common sense advice” is aimed at students scoring in the 140s and low 150s. It’s not for students aiming at -0.
I’ve written detailed explanations for around 1500 logical reasoning questions, and worked through countless more with students. Seeing the same questions over and over and over again forced me to become more efficient at them, and this efficiency is central to how I teach LR. I can’t stand a method that is logically correct, but slow.
So in this seminar I’m going to show you how I do logical reasoning. Quickly, efficiently, and simply.
Review
Here’s what one student said about another seminar (for logic games):
“I took a short (2 day) logic games course with LSAT Hacks at the same time I was enrolled in another company’s online LSAT course, and got got more out of one hour with Graeme than with almost two months with the other course. I was at a point where I….was open to insight into how really good games-section people even just look at a game, the incredibly simple but profoundly impactful ways they read the basic description of the game, the rules, and what they are doing when absorbing these things. I got faster almost immediately, and the fundamental principle of LSAT Hacks is that speed follows from expertise. I’ve enrolled in the full course because LSAT Hacks informs quickly and clearly, and that is just what I have been seeking.” – Hagatmas
FAQ
Are there any prereqs?
Not formally. But, I’m going to assume everyone in the seminar has the following:
- You are familiar with the basic question types: sufficient assumption, strengthen, weaken, principle, etc.
- You are familiar with common diagramming conventions
- You’ve done at least 20 LR sections
This webinar is for people that already know things about LR, and want to take it to the next level.
What will be covered?
The initial webinar will be in two main parts:
- I’m going to go over how I do Logical Reasoning, optimizing for speed and efficiency. This is the most important part: solving specific questions comes from a good understanding of the stimulus, and good processes on each part of the question.
- I’m going to cover LR questions in three categories: fact based questions, non-critical arguments, and flawed arguments. Before each section, I’m going to do questions of that type timed, and take detailed notes on exactly what I’m doing, and why. In the seminar, I’ll then walk you through the questions, pointing out how long I spent on the stimulus, the answers, etc. and the step by step process I used.
I’m going to mostly use questions from preptests 62-64, to avoid using up more PTs than necessary. I will take a few questions from tests in the 70s to show examples of new trends in LR. I’ll send out a question list before each session.
You’ll be able to do the questions in advance, in order to follow along. Or, read the questions as I’m discussing them, if you prefer.
I already have the other mastery seminars and want the bundle discount. What do I do?
No problem. Just send me an email (there’s a contact form on the “about” page). If you have:
One Mastery Seminar: You can get the LR seminar + the other one for $399.
Both LG and RC Mastery seminar: You can get the LR seminar for $199.
What’s in the other mastery seminars (middle package)?
The middle package is the LR seminar + the LG mastery seminar and the RC mastery seminar. This is a way to get all three seminars at a significant discount from the regular price. Each of the other two seminars has the same format: advanced strategies + I do questions timed, take notes, and then show you exactly how I solve them.
What’s the 1-on-1 consultation?
This is a chance to get personal feedback from me on your LR work. I’ll watch you solve some LR questions, and then give you detailed feedback on what habits to change in order to get a higher score.
