On lines 17-20, the author says that recorded disciplinary action only occurred if a client complained.

1. CORRECT. Lines 17-20 show that a disciplinary actions only happened if a client complained.
2. A client wouldn’t complain if a lawyer helped him.
3. There’s no client to complain here. Lawyers never complained against their own.
4. The example of the Florentine guild (lines 14-17) shows that lawyers sometimes discouraged their members from disciplining fellow lawyers. And lines 17-20 say that recorded complaints only happened when a client complained.
5. As with B, this helps the client, so the client is unlikely to complain.
