LSAT 104 | Section 2 | Reading Comprehension: Q12

LSAT Preptest 104 explanations

RC Question 12 Explanation

DISCUSSION: “Professional solidarity” refers to the fact that lawyers organized themselves to defend against outside critics. They refused to discipline fellow lawyers.

The lawyers would defend fellow lawyers, even if the lawyer had done something wrong. It was a scummy practice.

___________

  1. This shows that the teachers are fighting for a just cause.
  2. CORRECT. This shows that the journalists are covering up injustice to protect themselves.
  3. This just sounds like a nice thing to do.
  4. This doesn’t sound like a good thing to do. But there’s no professional solidarity. The government official and the manufacturer aren’t members of the same organization.
  5. This shows solidarity, but not in the same semi-evil way the lawyers showed solidarity.
