LSAT Preptest 21 explanations

LR Question 17 Explanation

QUESTION TEXT: Members of the Amazonian Akabe people commonly take…

QUESTION TYPE: Weaken

CONCLUSION: The anthropologist thinks that the Akabe don’t drink much of their much loved drink at dawn because the caffeine would reduce their surefootedness.

REASONING: There is no reasoning given.

ANALYSIS: We don’t know much about this tea. There could be some reason apart from caffeine that causes the Akabe to avoid drinking too much in the morning.

___________

  1. This provides another reason the Akabe might want to drink the tea. But maybe this advantage is outweigh by the disadvantage caffeine brings.
  2. This fits with the anthropologists’ explanation. You don’t need to be surefooted once your work is done.
  3. CORRECT. The narcotic could decrease surefootedness. So it would be the narcotic and not the caffeine that prevents the Akabe from drinking too much tea.
  4. This face about children doesn’t have much to do with why adults don’t drink much tea in the morning.
  5. Celebrations are rare. This fact doesn’t tell us much about their regular morning drinking habits.
