FACTS:

  1. There will soon be fewer graduates.
  2. Employers didn’t plan for this (so they aren’t reducing the number of jobs).
  3. Some high demand specialties have even fewer students.

ANALYSIS: We can say that there will be more jobs than college graduates, and this will be especially true for some specialties such as engineering or math.

  1. The opposite is true. We have fewer graduates but more jobs.
  2. CORRECT. This is true; employers haven’t realized that there will be fewer graduates in the future. This is especially true for some specialties such as engineering.
  3. Who knows. We only know that employers don’t know that the number of graduates will decrease.
  4. We know there will be fewer graduates. We don’t know if there will be fewer jobs.
  5. Who knows. Maybe those employers are well informed but lazy and bad at planning.
