LSAT 23 | Section 4 | Reading Comprehension: Q20

LSAT Preptest 23 explanations

RC Question 20 Explanation

DISCUSSION: You can’t do much beforehand for this type of question. Instead, once you settle on a likely answer, you have to make sure you can support it using the passage.

___________

  1. Lines 22-23 show that any of education, income or occupational mobility could have helped assimilation. But you can assimilate while keeping a strong community.
  2. This is very close to what lines 35-39 say, but not quite. This shows why it’s important to confirm using the passage. The Japanese community is not notable for its intensity.
  3. We have no idea. Fugita and O’Brien never make this sort of comparison.
  4. Actually, lines 26-29 show that the third generation (Sanseis) became interested in cultural activities outside the Japanese-American community. And we’re never told much about the second generation.
  5. CORRECT. Lines 24-29 say this directly.
