LSAT 104 | Section 3 | Reading Comprehension: Q6

LSAT Preptest 104 explanations

RC Question 6 Explanation

DISCUSSION: This is like question four. There’s little you can do beforehand. You have to go straight to the answer choices, then attempt to support your answer using the passage.

___________

  1. This sounds like the instructions that judges give to juries (lines 21-26). The author thinks those don’t work.
  2. CORRECT. Lines 52-58 support this. The author thinks a jury can be impartial even if (or especially if) it has pre-trial knowledge. The author thinks that informed debate between curious people is the most important thing.
  3. Same as A.
  4. This is vague. It doesn’t say if we should look for lots of media exposure or little media exposure.

But it’s a red herring. The author doesn’t think media exposure is relevant to impartiality.
  5. The author never mentions media during a trial. He only talks about whether jurors should have pre-trial media exposure.
