DISCUSSION: The intro mentions the reasons why a dictator might be forced to change. The three reasons are described. The final paragraph talks about how likely these changes are. 

Take this part by part. For example, the first sentence in the last three answers isn’t as good as the first sentence in the first two answers. And the final sentence in the first answer is bad. That told me I should focus on seeing whether B matches, and it did.

1. There are no alternative causes rejected in the final paragraph.
2. CORRECT. The phenomenon is “political change in authoritarian societies”, the causes are “societal changes”. The next three paragraphs explain each cause in more detail. And the final paragraph does expand on the relationship and confirm it. 
3. There is no cause preferred over the others.
4. Democratic change isn’t compared to societal change. The argument is saying societal change leads to democratic change.
5. Same as D. There is no comparison being made.
