LSAT 114 | Section 3 | Reading Comprehension: Q17

LSAT Preptest 114 explanations

RC Question 17 Explanation

DISCUSSION: Lines 21-30 describe contingencies. They are events that influence us, even though we may have little control over them.

This question is testing two things: 1. Can you locate the relevant part of the passage? 2. Can you read it?

It should be very easy. Each wrong answer can be eliminated using a line from the passage. The area you have to search isn’t large. You should never get this sort of question wrong. If you do, practice finding the wrong answers in the passage.

___________

  1. Line 21 says that all contingencies are social phenomena.
  2. CORRECT. Historical structuring is the name of Abrams’ method. It isn’t a historical event.
  3. Line 26.
  4. Lines 21-22.
  5. Lines 29-30.
