I still don’t understand why B is correct. Isn’t it supposed to be the new test that is capable of detecting diseases? From my understanding, ethical dilemmas are created by advances in tests rather than medicine. The stem never talks about advances in medicine.
The key is that a test is actually part of medicine. For instance, we do not have a reliable non-invasive test for most cancers. If we had one that would be considered a medical advance and (probably) improve medical outcomes even with no further improvements in cancer therapy.
Medicine is a broad term and it is dangerous to try to exclude things from it. I checked the dictionary and the definition is: the science or practice of the diagnosis, treatment, and prevention of disease
Tests fall under diagnosis of disease.
