I know this is ’24, But I thought the same as the comment before. There is no specification as to whether National can be in either Segment. It does say 1st out of the 5, which lends to believe regardless of Segment because 1st & 2nd Segment = 5. Can someone Please Clarify, Thanks :)
Hi! I diagrammed this out and in both diagrams I also have weather as being the second report in the first subject. This is because in the first diagram, it National goes first in the first segment, international would have to go first in the second segment which pushes weather to second in the first segment.
In the second diagram, I put National as first in the second segment, and since the last reports are traffic and sports respectively, to respect the last rule, international has to go before weather which puts them as first and second in the first segment.
So in both cases I have sports as last in the second segment ( which is the answer) but also weather as second in the first segment (which is answer C). Am I missing something?
If National goes in the first segment, International doesn’t necessarily have to go first in the second segment. The stimulus only said that each segment contains at least one report of local interest; it doesn’t say that each segment needs a report of general interest. This means that your diagram can look like this:

Weather doesn’t have to be in the first segment, but Sports has to be in the last report of the second segment. Thus, C is wrong and E is correct.

I chose A because I thought that National News is the longest so whether if it is in the first segment or the second, it must always be first. However, did you not choose it precisely because it can be in both segments you can’t tell where it will be even though it will surely be aired first while for E, you know for sure it will go in the spot of the second segment because sports is the shortest? Can anyone clarify it for me? Thanks!
