DISCUSSION: This question is asking for the author’s attitude towards the cattle economy. What does the author think of the cattle economy? This author attributes Great Zimbabwe’s prosperity to the cattle economy, and also says it’s the reason why gold mining was successful and how Great Zimbabwe managed to feed its large population. So we can say the author has a high opinion of the cattle economy and thinks its pretty entrenched in Great Zimbabwe’s society (marriage, royal patronage, etc.)

5. CORRECT. The author is clear in his appreciation of how complex cattle economies are and how it underlies Great Zimbabwe’s society.
