LSAT 154 | Section 3 | Reading Comprehension: Q3

LSAT Preptest 154 explanations

RC Question 3 Explanation

DISCUSSION: The second paragraph explains why Great Zimbabwe used its cattle economy. The African Savanna was insufficient to feed the large population, and the cattle economy bypasses this shortcoming. So we’re looking for a situation where there’s an unfavorable situation (savanna woodland) that a strategy/innovation (cattle economy) allows to succeed.

___________

  1. These are just two things that go hand-in-hand.
  2. CORRECT. The dessert is insufficient to provide water to the farm. Irrigation in this case would be the strategy/innovation that would allow this farm to thrive.
  3. Like A, these are just two things that go together.
  4. It’s hard to tell how these two things are related to each other, or how one can cause the second’s success.
  5. An individual stone is a part of a stone wall. This is a different relationship than mentioned in the stimulus.
