LSAT Preptest 154 explanations

RC Question 14 Explanation

DISCUSSION: This one is pretty easy. Read through each answer choice and fact-check it against the passage. The wrong answers are mostly likely out of scope or irrelevant.

___________

  1. CORRECT. The passage tells us why Colwell thought V. Cholerae resided in the ocean.
  2. No other bacteria are discussed in the passage.
  3. Ultraviolet light was only mentioned as a way to detect V. Cholerae’s presence, not because it affects its reproduction in any way.
  4. We don’t know how it affects shellfish.
  5. The last paragraph only states Colwell’s suspicions on what conditions awaken V. Cholerae from its dormancy, not that she has any plans to determine what they are.
