LSAT Preptest 154 explanations

RC Question 1 Explanation

DISCUSSION: The main point is how cattle forms the basis of how Great Zimbabwe’s society is organized and also explains its prosperity.

___________

  1. CORRECT. The passage says that Great Zimbabwe’s prosperity and social organization is based on its cattle economy.
  2. This is incorrect. We don’t talk about the “rise and fall of Great Zimbabwe” and we know that the cattle economy was responsible for its civilization.
  3. We don’t know how the “royal class” obtained its power.
  4. This is what the scholars in paragraph 1 believed but the author corrects this misconception and says it’s due to the cattle economy.
  5. The cattle weren’t for communal use since ordinary people can only get use due to royal patronage.
