September 2024 LSAT Proctoring and Test Centers
19,813 people were registered to take the September 2024 exam. Dave Killoran reports that roughly ~18,000 took the exam over three days.
Overall testing seems to have been positive. LSAC continues to iron out difficulties in their proctoring. Powerscore’s Dave Killoran reported on twitter that there were no systemic issues. I have collected some problem reports below, but know that most people had no issues.
Test Centers remain the best option for problem free testing. Virtually no issues were reported for in person testing.
Three issues, however, were present based on Reddit info:
Proctor absences or odd behavior: Some students reported that proctors would show up and then simply leave – notably during breaks. There were fewer such reports than on past exams, but it is still a risk to remote testing. Note that such reports are overall much lower than they were earlier in the year. Overall remote testing experiences have been quite positive. Some reports of incidents that did occur:
- Camera stopped working after downloading
- Proctor paused could not resume
- Proctor interrupted my test
- Please help proctor nightmare on my final lsat
- Why would the proctor ping me during the test
- Prometric issues rant
- Terrible remote experience
- Disconnected several times test day complaint
Various test center notes
- My remote experience i pissed myself
- Anyone elses proctor bitch about their straw in their drink
- Did anyones proctor make you cover a tv too
- Notifying proctor at the end of the exam –> helpful thread. You don’t need to notify the proctor when finishing, according to the notice they found. (Please verify this before relying on it, as LSAC rules could change at any point)
Proctor Connection Issues
A connection issue can happen either on Prometric’s end or your own end. To reduce the odds of connection issues from your end I recommend checking your internet speed and using ethernet. I have written a guide on avoiding LSAT test day internet issues here.
Test Center Reports
In-person testing issues. Generally no complaints on this front. One person complained of noisy proctors. Another person mentioned their test center was three hours away. Saw a separate post that someone had a security violation for accidentally picking up their phone when it was turned off. Remote proctor was generally fine, but a test center seems the most problem free method. :
One caution about test centers: if you get sick, you won’t be able to switch to remote, or won’t easily be able to. One person was quite sick and did not want to risk infecting others
Macos: Note that Macos Sonoma is now supported, and no issues were reported. And majority of remote test reports were positive. A word of caution: Macos Sequoia will be coming out this month. I strongly recommend NOT upgrading to Sequoia until LSAC and Prometric confirm that their software is compatible with the new OS.
September 2024 LSAT Curve
The curve for the September 2024 LSAT can’t be known, as LSAC doesn’t release exams and never discloses current curves. Note also that there are multiple versions of the exam administered each test date, so one version may have a different curve than another. Powerscore has announced they will release a podcast on Tuesday Sept 10th with curve predictions.
September 2024 Score Release Date
The September 2024 LSAT’s score release date is Wednesday, September 25th. Based on recent history, score release will be on exactly that date.
Score preview can be purchased between September 14th and September 23rd for $80.
The November 2024 registration deadline is open until September 26th, 2024. Note that this is one day after September score release – you will have a chance to see your Sept score and decide. The October registration deadline has passed.
If you had an issue during testing LSAC will often provide a retest date prior to score release. You’ll need to contact LSAC to file a complaint and get it approved in order to get a retest.
September 2024 LSAT Confirmed Topics
Based on Reddit’s Discussion, here are some confirmed topics for the September 2024 LSAT. If you had one of these sections, that section was scored.
Generally speaking, people report that Powerscore’s crystal ball was fairly accurate this test, notably for RC.
There is no scheduled release date for any of the questions from these exams. The last scheduled release was LSAT Preptest 94, administered in 2020. (This is now preptest 156 in the new format)
Note that there were no more logic games on this LSAT.
