ARGUMENTS: JORGE’S ARGUMENT: We obviously need to change our economic policy, so let’s just bite the bullet and make all the changes at once.

CHRISTINA’S ARGUMENT: We do need a change in economic policy, but we should do it slowly.

ANALYSIS: They both agree that we need a change. Jorge says let’s do it all at once. Christina says nope, we shouldn’t, we should be careful.

  1. Both of them agree that it is needed.
  2. Christina uses the horse metaphor. Jorge never comments on whether this metaphor is good or not.
  3. Nobody discusses pain or the speed/pain relationship.
  4. CORRECT. Jorge disagrees with this and Christina agrees with this.
  5. Nobody says the economic situation is grave. The fact that a policy shift is needed doesn’t necessarily mean the situation is grave.
