LSAT Preptest 104 explanations

RC Question 19 Explanation

DISCUSSION: Paragraphs two and three discuss Rower. He believes in the hypothesis (lines 17-19), but his study failed to support the hypothesis. (lines 25-26)

___________

  1. There’s no other issue. Rower’s data are still relevant to the hypothesis, even though they fail to support it.
  2. Rower believes the hypothesis is correct (lines 17-19). He doesn’t attempt to revise it, and the author of the passage doesn’t say Rower’s data support any revision.
  3. Lines 17-19 show that Rower believes the hypothesis is true.
  4. Rower never said the hypothesis needed expanding. And the author doesn’t think Rower’s data support the hypothesis at all.
  5. CORRECT. This is supported by lines 17-19 and lines 25-26.
