LSAT Preptest 21 explanations

RC Question 2 Explanation

DISCUSSION: Lines 10-16 tell us all we know about the music of this school. Some works by Field and Clementi were available, but otherwise the works from that period were unavailable until Temperley’s anthology was published.

___________

  1. We don’t know that Field’s music was typical of the school. We only know his music was available.
  2. Similar to A. We only know that Clementi’s work is available. But other works, such as Field’s, may be better known.
  3. If there were no original scores, it would have been difficult for Temperley to have reproduced copies (facsimiles) of the works.
  4. There may have been other attempts. We only know that one worthwhile attempt succeeded.
  5. CORRECT. This is true. Only Field and Clementi’s music was reproduced, and these reproductions were often substandard. Other musicians of that period were unknown.
