LSAT Preptest 21 explanations

RC Question 25 Explanation

DISCUSSION: There isn’t much to say about this type of question. Make sure to support your answer using a detail from the passage.

___________

  1. CORRECT. This would explain why educational centers try to change immigrants’ values (e.g. lines 27-29).

If educators didn’t believe this, then they might leave immigrants’ values alone and focus instead on teaching them language and job skills.
  2. The educators don’t seem to care about English proficiency. They train immigrants for unskilled jobs, and neglect their long term needs.
    (Lines 20-25)
  3. It’s not employment that educational centers use to undermine community. Educational centers use new values to undermine community.
    (Lines 34-38)
  4. If this is true, then why do educational centers try to undermine immigrants’ sense of community?
    (Lines 34-38)
  5. If educational administrators thought this, then they wouldn’t bother teaching self-Asians how to be self-sufficient and achieve individual success. Asian-Americans would already know how.
