LSAT 101 | Section 1 | Reading Comprehension: Q27

LSAT Preptest 101 explanations

RC Question 27 Explanation

DISCUSSION: Fake? has shown that even within our culture, the distinction between fake and original is not clear.

The final paragraph adds a new issue. Some foreign cultures don’t even have a concept of fake art.

This isn’t directly connected to the previous argument. Instead, the final paragraph shows a new side of the overall issue discussed by the passage.

___________

  1. Which question? Don’t let the question marks in “Fake?” fool you, there are no questions in the first paragraph.
  2. This would mean that paragraph two mentioned the Bambara, and paragraph three summarizes their story.

    Paragraph two never mentioned Africa.
  3. Which argument? Paragraph three is introducing a new concept that isn’t linked to paragraph two.
  4. CORRECT. The distinction is between fake and original. The third paragraph shows that foreign cultures may not make the same distinction we do.
  5. The only general principle from the beginning is that a fake is art intended to deceive. The third paragraph doesn’t mention this principle or do anything to support it.
