LSAT 102 | Section 1 | Reading Comprehension: Q4

LSAT Preptest 102 explanations

RC Question 4 Explanation

DISCUSSION: The author doesn’t say how the issue of email privacy should be resolved. The passage is a neutral description of the issue.

The most we can say is that the author finds the issue interesting enough to have written four paragraphs about it, with sophisticated arguments.

___________

  1. To pick this, you’d have to find a line where the author said “interception is wrong”, or something like that.
  2. The opposite of A. To pick this, you’d need a line that said “interception is right”.
  3. The author never expressed sympathy for the employees. They just told us the result of the court case.
  4. CORRECT. This answer is a bit of a cop-out. But it’s true that the author must find the issues interesting. Otherwise, why would they have written four well researched paragraphs?
  5. The author is neutral, not cynical. And motives are never mentioned. We don’t know why employers intercept email.
