LSAT 103 | Section 3 | Logical Reasoning: Q7

LSAT Preptest 103 explanations

LR Question 7 Explanation

QUESTION TEXT: Lack of exercise produces the same or similar bodily effects as…

QUESTION TYPE: Complete the Argument

CONCLUSION: [Exercise offers more hope for slowing aging than drugs do] (my guess)

REASONING: Drugs can’t slow aging, while exercise can. Lack of exercise can accelerate aging.

ANALYSIS: The whole argument talks about what does and doesn’t work to slow aging. The logical conclusion is to sum everything up: exercise works, drugs don’t.

___________

  1. No one said drugs age you faster. They just don’t help you age slower.
  2. All we know about lack of exercise is that it increases aging, and drugs can’t help with that.
  3. Prevent? Careful, that goes too far. Exercise won’t keep you forever young, it just keeps you young longer.
  4. This isn’t supported. As far as we know, exercise slows aging at any age.
  5. CORRECT. This makes sense. Drugs don’t seem to do anything, while exercise does.

Recap: The question begins with “Lack of exercise produces the same or similar bodily effects as”. It is a Complete the Argument question. Learn how to master LSAT Complete the Argument questions on the LSAT Logical Reasoning question types page.
