LR Question 4 Explanation

QUESTION TEXT: Raising the humidity of a room protects furniture, draperies, and…

QUESTION TYPE: Most Strongly Supported – Exception

FACTS:

Raising humidity can have the following benefits:

  1. Protection against dry air for furniture, draperies and computers.
  2. People feel warmer.
  3. People resist viruses better.
  4. Some skin rashes get better.

ANALYSIS: There’s not much to say. Know the four points above, and this type of question is easy.

___________

  1. CORRECT. Actually, the stimulus supports the idea that humidity protects computers from dry air. Maybe excess humidity is bad too, but we don’t know.
  2. This is why humidity can help protect furniture. Without humidity, dry air hurts furniture.
  3. The second sentence says more humidity makes us feel warmer.
  4. The final point is that humidity can help some skin rashes.
  5. This is the second-to-last point. The immune system fights viruses.
