DISCUSSION: The main point is that few people both understand Latin and have the technical knowledge to read the texts.

  1. No, the main point is that there hasn’t been enough analysis of those important works. 
  2. Line 4 says these authors wrote in English. We don’t know if they wrote in Latin too.
  3. This isn’t true. People have studied literary Latin from the Renaissance. The passage never claimed that scholars studied only Roman Latin texts. Scholars might have studied medieval Latin texts, for example.
  4. Nope. The author of the passage doesn’t care who analyzes literary works, as long as someone does. The problem is that no one is studying technical Latin works. 
  5. CORRECT. “Academic specialization” refers to the fact that some people know Latin, and some people have technical knowledge, but few people have technical knowledge and know Latin.
