LR Question 22 Explanation

QUESTION TEXT: All parrots can learn to speak a few words and phrases…

QUESTION TYPE: Must be True

ANALYSIS: We know three things. All parrots can speak (P ➞ S). Some parrots in Australia have sweet dispositions. Almost all parrots (most) will show affection for an owner who hand- feeds them.

What can we conclude? Not much. We know that there are some sweet-tempered parrots in Australia that can speak (because they are parrots), and likewise that some hand fed parrots love their masters and can speak (because they are parrots).

___________

  1. CORRECT. We know this to be true of at least some parrots in Australia.
  2. We don’t know about how sweet tempered non-Australian parrots are.
  3. Same as B. We only know that some parrots in Australia are sweet, but not how they compare.
  4. Even a single sweet tempered parrot outside of Australia would disprove this.
  5. We only know about parrots, not other pet birds.

Recap: The question begins with “All parrots can learn to speak a few words and phrases”. It is a Must be True question. Learn more about LSAT MBT questions in our guide to LSAT Logical Reasoning question types.
