LSAT 135 | Section 3 | Reading Comprehension: Q8

LSAT Preptest 135 explanations

RC Question 8 Explanation

DISCUSSION: The main point is that we have more information than ever, and it’s decaying rapidly.

___________

  1. CORRECT. This is a good summary. We have more information, and it’s decaying rapidly. So archivists have a tough job.
  2. This completely contradicts the third paragraph. See lines 58-59.
  3. Lines 34-36 show that archivists are reluctant to use computers. But this is hardly the main point of the entire passage.
  4. Actually, the capacity of modern storage media is enormous. Hard drives are cheaper than ever. See line 23. It takes very little space to store information electronically.
  5. This may be true, but it’s not the main point. This is just a factor that makes things harder for archivists. With so much useless information, it’s hard to sift through and find the stuff worth storing.
