Lines 1-2 tell us how to judge is a work of art is fake. Lines 5-6 show that it’s more difficult to judge when a work of art is original.
The end of the first paragraph presents several examples that fall into a grey area.
The second paragraph gives extended examples that illustrate the ideas from the first paragraph.
The third paragraph shows another aspect of the dilemma. Even within our culture, it’s hard to define what is original. But many foreign cultures don’t even have the concept of “fake”.
