LSAT Preptest 101 explanations

RC Question 21 Explanation

DISCUSSION: The author presents Fake?’s views as true. The passage is simply a discussion of the book’s ideas.

The book discusses the complicated question of art forgery.

___________

  1. Which points of view? The author only presents Fake?’s point of view.
  2. The passage is not a history of art forgery. Instead, it’s a discussion of the topic which uses historical examples.
  3. CORRECT. The passage explores the question of what the difference between a forgery and an original piece of art. Declaring something “original” is more complicated that it seems.
  4. Which new approach? For all we know, Fake?’s approach to analyzing forgery is an old approach. The fact that someone publishes a book does not make an approach new.
  5. The author seems to agree with Fake?’s explanation.
