LSAT 101 | Section 1 | Reading Comprehension: Q10

LSAT Preptest 101 explanations

RC Question 10 Explanation

DISCUSSION: This question is unusual in that the passage directly contradicts three of the wrong answers. Often the wrong answers are just nonsense that mix together terms from the passage.

___________

  1. CORRECT. Lines 55-60 support this. Immigrant communities can empower themselves by staying in touch with the struggles of their home country.
  2. Lines 52-54 contradict this. Immigrant communities need more than just history.
  3. The passage never mentions youth from other immigrant communities. Lines 55-60 suggest that keeping in touch with the home country would be more effective.
  4. Lines 19-21 say that privileged Koreans didn’t feel close to their roots.
  5. Lines 33-36 say that the Pico struggle (which was political) let the Korean community connect with the wider society.
