LSAT 101 | Section 1 | Reading Comprehension: Q16

LSAT Preptest 101 explanations

RC Question 16 Explanation

DISCUSSION: We don’t know very much about Zirkel and Schoenfeld. The wrong answers incorrectly assume that we know what they did in the past or what they think of other techniques.

___________

  1. We don’t know this. The author only mentions Zirkel and Schoenfeld as an example of a larger trend.
  2. Who knows? Just because someone uses one technique does not mean that they use no other techniques.

Lines 10-13 imply that the Zirkel and Schoenfeld have used some useful techniques as well.
  3. This is too strong. Just because Zirkel and Schoenfeld didn’t use traditional methods doesn’t mean they think those traditional methods are worthless.
  4. Policy capturing is only mentioned in paragraph three. We don’t know what Zirkel and Schoenfeld think of it.
  5. CORRECT. Lines 16-19 support this.
