LR Question 25 Explanation

QUESTION TEXT: Certain governments subsidize certain basic agricultural…

QUESTION TYPE: Parallel Reasoning

FACTS: The government wants to encourage domestic production. But its subsidies exhaust the soil and eventually decrease production.

ANALYSIS: The main relationship is that the subsidies help but then eventually destroy the thing they are meant to encourage.

___________

  1. This just shows the policy of subsidies is ineffective. Subsidies aren’t destroying the theatre.
  2. This just shows that subsidies help some businesses. They don’t destroy the businesses.
  3. CORRECT. Here, the armed forces are created to cause peace. But to keep the armed forces ready they must be used for war (the destruction of peace.)
  4. This just shows that the subsidies come with some risk. They don’t destroy entrepreneurship.
  5. This just shows that the laws are not sufficient. It is the growth of population that is harming safety, not the laws.
