LSAT 139 | Section 3 | Reading Comprehension: Q27

LSAT Preptest 139 explanations

RC Question 27 Explanation

DISCUSSION: You can disprove wrong answers with lines in the passage. This doesn’t take that long once you practice.

Look for line references when you review, and you can answer this type of question more quickly.

___________

  1. Paragraph four contains information about Temple’s critics. The paragraph doesn’t say why Calvaria major fruit developed thick walls.
  2. See the last sentence of the fourth paragraph. They said the decline ‘could easily be due to other factors’. So the author isn’t 100% certain Temple was wrong.
  3. CORRECT. The fourth paragraph suggests that Calvaria major seeds have a low germination rate. So it’s actually to be expected that there aren’t many Calvaria major trees.
  4. See the fourth paragraph.
  5. See the fourth paragraph.
