1. The author is very approving of new researchers. E.g. on lines 42-44 they say our history of textiles “has advanced”. This is approving.
2. Nonsense. This answer contradicts the third paragraph: there, for example, the author mentions how modern reconstruction can generate new knowledge.
3. This isn’t supported. In the first paragraph, the author lists all the obstacles faced by research into crafts. So the fact that scholars have overcome them is impressive.
4. The author never mentioned new scholars being attracted to the field.
5. CORRECT. This is a good summary of the author’s opinion overall. E.g. Lines 29-33 say that archaeology has moved from “once little more” to “scientific”. The first term implies criticism, whereas the second is a compliment on the LSAT. Lines 14-18 are also clear: “despite these obstacles researchers have learned a great deal”. Overcoming difficulty is generally taken as a compliment on LSAT passages.
