RC Question 11 Explanation

QUESTION TEXT: Which one of the following statements is most strongly …

DISCUSSION: Both passages discuss financial services for very poor clients. Only A talks about state banks and the Grameen model (only loans, no savings).

The similarities appear at the end of Passage A. Both include direct evidence that poor people do save when given the chance. Passage A describes BRI’s success, and Passage B describes SafeSave’s model of daily saving and withdrawing.

___________

  1. Neither passage makes this claim. SafeSave offers unique products, but nothing says sustainability depends on uniqueness.
  2. Both passages describe alternatives to collateral (group pressure, frequent transactions).
  3. CORRECT. Passage A shows demand with BRI’s 30 million accounts, and B shows clients using SafeSave to save frequently.
  4. Neither passage discusses whether profits are appropriate.
  5. SafeSave is urban, but Grameen and BRI are rural. Neither passage compares success rates by geography.
