LSAT 148 | Section 2 | Reading Comprehension: Q15

LSAT Preptest 148 explanations

RC Question 15 Explanation

DISCUSSION: This should be a straightforward question. If you got this wrong, you should review how good you are at figuring out authors’ opinions.

Passage A is arguing that insider trading should be legal. Passage B argues against it. So, their attitudes are positive, and negative.

Lines 16-30 show that the author of passage A thinks insider trading is positively beneficial. They aren’t merely neutral about it.

___________

  1. Passage B is against insider trading.
  2. CORRECT. This matches. See the analysis above.
  3. Passage A was in favor of insider trading, since it allows information to spread quickly. See lines 16-30.
  4. See lines 16-30 and 55-65. Passage A says that insider trading helps information flow faster. Passage B says insider trading could undermine confidence in stock markets.
  5. Same as C. Passage A was actually positive about insider trading: they thought it sped up the flow of information. See lines 21-30.
