LSAT 138 | Section 1 | Reading Comprehension: Q2

LSAT Preptest 138 explanations

RC Question 2 Explanation

DISCUSSION: You can’t prephrase this type of question. Instead, skim the answers and identify 1-2 that you find most likely to be correct. Then look for confirmation in the passage. There will almost always be a few lines that prove the right answer with 100% certainty.

If you can’t find the specific lines that support the right answer, then practice doing this on review. You should be able to do it very quickly.

___________

  1. This is never mentioned. The first sentence of paragraph 2 says corridos don’t use embellishments.
  2. The second sentence of paragraph 2 says figures of speech are rare.
  3. CORRECT. This is mentioned in the second sentence of paragraph 3.
  4. Rhyme is mentioned in the last few sentences of paragraph 3, but we’re not told if it is complex.
  5. The word ‘English’ never appears in the passage.
