DISCUSSION: We’re looking for a principle the author would reject. From the passage, we know that the author doesn’t think nonfiction films should be shown according to the “collecting the similar” notion, and that he thinks films should be shown the way they were originally intended to be.
___________
- The author doesn’t agree or disagree with this.
- CORRECT. The author says very clearly that early nonfiction films should be shown in a mixture with other film types, which goes directly against this principle.
- The author would agree with this since he thinks modern displays of nonfiction film should take notes from how the original programmers exhibited the films.
- The author might agree with this one. “Art” is a bit broad and if it’s generally speaking, then he doesn’t really have an opinion on it. He does take issue with displaying a bunch of “supporting” nonfiction films together, suggesting he does care about how each work contributes to the whole.
- The author agrees with this (or at least, doesn’t take issue with it being done this way) in the first paragraph.
