LR Question 9 Explanation

QUESTION TEXT: Although nondairy coffee lighteners made with coconut oil…

QUESTION TYPE: Strengthen

ANALYSIS: This is a continuation of the previous question. We have to support the claim of coconut oil manufacturers that their products typically cause a smaller rise in blood cholesterol.

___________

  1. This isn’t relevant. A true comparison would compare two groups who were equal except that one group took coconut oil and the other took whole milk.
  2. This doesn’t address the question of coconut oil vs. whole milk.
  3. Same as B. This is talking about a non-dairy non-coconut creamer. Useless.
  4. CORRECT. If less coconut oil is required, then consumers might experience a smaller increase in cholesterol with coconut oil because they add less.
  5. This is irrelevant. The consumers are wrong.

Recap: The question begins with “Although nondairy coffee lighteners made with coconut oil”. It is a Strengthen question. Learn how to master LSAT Strengthen questions on the LSAT Logical Reasoning question types page.
