LSAT 114 | Section 3 | Reading Comprehension: Q2

LSAT Preptest 114 explanations

RC Question 2 Explanation

DISCUSSION: Burned forests had more pines and berries (Lines 36 and 44). The forests also tended to have only one kind of tree (lines 37-38). The forests sometimes turned to grassy meadows (lines 27-28).

These are just a few changes, others are mentioned. You should check wrong answers against the passage before eliminating them. Four of the answers are eliminated using the passage, I’ve given line references below.

If you can’t do this quickly, then practice. It’s a trainable skill, and it will help you greatly.

___________

  1. CORRECT. Lines 37-39 contradict this. Burning tends to turn mixed forests into forests with only one kind of tree.
  2. See lines 31-34. Burning lead to undergrowth.
  3. See lines 35-37.
  4. See lines 29-31.
  5. See lines 27-28.
