LSAT Preptest 114 explanations

RC Question 3 Explanation

DISCUSSION: Lines 44-50 tell us that Nicaraguan pines grew at low elevations after fires. Nicaraguan forests are contrasted with Mexican forests, which only grow at high elevations. Lines 50-52 say there has been some recent forest burning.

___________

  1. Lines 39-40 mention these, but we’re not told if these forests are recent.
  2. Same as A.
  3. These are mentioned on lines 46-50. Pines at high elevations are natural. They aren’t the result of burning.
  4. Same as C.
  5. CORRECT. It takes a bit of searching, but this is supported by lines 44-50. Lines 50-52 tell us that Nicaraguan forests were burned recently.
