DISCUSSION: Line 25 says that quantitative studies can answer “these questions”. It’s referring to the questions listed above line 25. You should reread those questions to answer this question.

The lines discussed how the law affected medieval women in practice.

  1. The intent of the law is something we can figure out using traditional sources (see line 10). We lack information about the effects of the law.
  2. None of the questions say we can figure out the unconscious intentions of medieval judges. Court cases usually aren’t good at revealing hidden motives.
  3. Medieval court cases won’t directly tell us anything about the modern world. 
  4. CORRECT. See especially lines 21-25. This is stated directly. 
  5. The author says quantitative studies of court cases would help, but they don’t say how to organize the court cases.
