LSAT 132 | Section 1 | Reading Comprehension: Q10

LSAT Preptest 132 explanations

RC Question 10 Explanation

DISCUSSION: On this type of question, you’re looking for a line that supports the right answer. If you can’t find a line supporting the answer, you’re likely to make a mistake.

___________

  1. Line 36 says that it’s custom illustrations that often avoid color.
  2. The author says custom illustrations can’t be admitted without expert testimony (line 29). But established medical textbooks might be admitted without further testimony. We don’t know.
  3. We have no idea. The passage never says what kind of illustrators draw medical textbooks.
  4. Lines 16-20 describe this view, but they only say some lawyers hold it. We don’t know if most lawyers believe this. If most lawyers thought custom illustrations were misleading, then custom illustrations probably wouldn’t be used.
  5. CORRECT. See lines 41-46. Custom illustrations remove detail to avoid confusing judges and juries.
