LSAT 103 | Section 4 | Reading Comprehension: Q10

LSAT Preptest 103 explanations

RC Question 10 Explanation

DISCUSSION: See lines 52-56. Porter was researching the influence of African art on Western art. Scholars still haven’t completed this work.

___________

  1. There’s no evidence for this. We have no idea whether Porter’s research would have made him change his opinions.
  2. Same as A.
  3. Porter might have already completed his research on African-American art. This new work could have focussed only on Europe, Asia, and all the areas Porter had not examined.
  4. CORRECT. Porter had previously investigated how African art had influenced art in the Americas (lines 1-3).

This new work would have broadened this research to the entire world.
  5. We’re not told a single thing about Porter’s contemporaries.
